Many years living in Penwith, Cornwall inspired me to make a series of Harbour pictures using charcoal and acrylic

The Way Through

"THE WAY THROUGH" created for the Lady Chapel, Holy Trinity Church in 2011

mixed media on canvas

I was commissioned by a customer to paint her two young daughters in a "medieval" style, inspired by wall paintings.

1 metre square . Using the notion of the 7 directions (rather than 4): north, south, east, west, above, below and within. I used techniques of pasting and pulling fabric onto canvas to create textures and ghost marks reminiscent of aerial views of the land

The Lie of the Land

The painting comes from a fascination with the history of the land and the clues of past habitations which lie just beneath the surface.
